The Clarington Toros Minor Bantam AA's came together as a team off of the ice this Christmas season to help support our local community. The boys worked together to collect non parishable food items and gifts for those in need throughout Durham Region. Constable Darryl Rice of the DRPS was on hand to meet the boys at Garnet B. Rickard Arena to load up his cruiser and take the items to be distributed in conjunction with community partners such as Simcoe Hall Settlement House and the Salvation Army.

For the second time in as many months our Toros team took to the road in search of tournament glory and brought home hardware again. Starting the tournament with a spirited Don Mills Mustangs team, the boys took a little bit of time getting up to speed during an early morning game, but found their stride in time to tame the Mustangs 2-0. Followed by an afternoon tilt with the Kitchener Rangers, where we managed to control the majority of the game, but in the end came up a little short in the final push to win, with Kitchener adding an empty-net goal to seal their victory. So the boys came away 1 and 1 for the first day of tournament play.

A fantastic weekend of total team effort served as the catalyst for this group of seasoned competitors to come together and make us all proud. In game one, our boys battled back from a 4-1 deficit in the middle of the third period with 5 unanswered goals to beat the Stouffville Clippers. From this point forward, we knew we had what it would take to go the distance. A hard fought battle against Oshawa that lead to tie, rounded out our Friday play. Facing two top ten teams in the province from the Capital Region on Saturday, we knew it was a true test of what we were made of.

Hi Everyone!
I hope you are all enjoying your summer so far. We are starting to get the website up and going for out team so we can keep you up to date so far on what is happening this year.
As you all know the coaching staff have requested that the kids get out and train this summer to be ready for our season next year. In addition to the running and strength training the boys were asked to work on their wrist, backhand, snap shots etc. I will summarize the shot challenge here so you can have it on hand in case the sheets were misplaced.
