Minor Bantam AA Toros bring Home Oshawa Cup Silver
A fantastic weekend of total team effort served as the catalyst for this group of seasoned competitors to come together and make us all proud.  In game one, our boys battled back from a 4-1 deficit in the middle of the third period with 5 unanswered goals to beat the Stouffville Clippers.  From this point forward, we knew we had what it would take to go the distance.  A hard fought battle against Oshawa that lead to tie, rounded out our Friday play.  Facing two top ten teams in the province from the Capital Region on Saturday, we knew it was a true test of what we were made of.

The Eastern Ontario Cobras brought a brand of physical hockey not often seen in this day and age, which resulted in our first hard fought loss of the tournament.  Then facing a skilled and savvy Kanata Blazer team yielded our second loss of the day.  Hanging in the balance, our Toros team advanced to the semis based on tournament formula to provide a rematch opportunity and a chance at redemption for the Saturday night loss to Kanata.  In classic fashion, the boys rose to the occasion in sound 200-foot game and convincingly defeated Kanata to advance to the final.  The boys knew that they were up against a tremendously physical and skilled team in the Eastern Ontario Cobras in the gold medal game.  In spite of this reality, the boys dressed for battle and met their foe head on in one for the ages.  In the end our boys came up a little short losing 4-2, but they came to realize their true potential and most importantly they forged themselves as a team.  Coach Gaylor was quoted as saying “17 wheels on the semi-truck were rollin this weekend!! The boys really came together and grew as a team.  The coaching staff are extremely proud of the compete level and overall team play..."  Looking forward to our next tournaments in Waterloo and Buffalo in November and December.
