Toros Undefeated After 5
The Clarington Toros Atom AE squad went up against some of the toughest teams the Lakeshores have to offer this past week, and they didn't disappoint. The athletes were determined to put their talent on display and show what they've learned in practice. The competition was tough, but the Toros prevailed, winning against both the Whitby Wildcats and the Peterborough Petes to maintain an undefeated record on the regular season.

The Toros started with an away game vs. Whitby, where the team was determined to play proper position and come out with a win. The players fought hard, winning some important battles on the boards and making some nice heads-up passing plays. Unfortunately, the Whitby Wildcats were the first to score, leaving the Toros to trail for the majority of the game. Aidan Maley and Nathan Harper decided to step it up in the last half of the game, muscling opponents off the puck and accounting for 2 late key goals to push the Toros into the lead 3-2 in the final minutes to end the game. Declan O'Connor played outstanding in net, denying Whitby a late-game push with some excellent saves. For his grit and ability to stay on his feet and win battles, Aidan Maley was once again awarded the Warrior of the Game.

The Toros faced off at home vs. Peterborough a few days later, intent to start the scoring first this time. They accomplished this, as Nathan Harper was able to beat the Peterborough goalie with a nice backhand in the first to go up 1-0. The Toros had the lead for the majority of the game, with two nice breakaway goals from Samuel Archer and Kai MacDonald. Peterborough moved the puck well and had some nice shots, but Anderson Selkirk was dominant in net, blocking almost every one of the 31 shots coming his way. In the end, the Toros prevailed with a narrow 5-4 victory against a tough Peterborough team. For his stand-up defensive play and some nice passing, Owen Pultz was awarded the Warrior of the Game.

Up next for the Toros is a home game versus the high scoring Ajax Knights, followed by a short road stint against the Pickering Panthers and Quinte West Hawks. GO TOROS!
