Toros Extend Undefeated Streak
The Clarington Toros Atom AE squad has been proving their worth against the toughest teams the Lakeshores have to offer. After a thrilling two-game weekend vs. Quinte West, the Toros were at home against Oshawa and Northumberland, both resulting in a Toros 'W'. The Toros are having fun winning, but are keeping in mind the concept that hard work is still important, and that 'anybody can beat anybody on any given day'.

The Toros' two games in Quinte were both challenging in their own right. After a tight 4-2 victory on the Saturday, the players came back hungry for a decisive win on the Sunday, which they were able to achieve, winning 10-4 at the beautiful Duncan McDonald arena in Quinte.

Next was a weekday home game vs. the Oshawa Minor Generals. The Toros were quite overwhelmed in the 1st period, as it was clearly evident that Oshawa was more determined to get the win. However, the players turned on their '2nd-gear' in the last half of the game, making some nice passes and winning some important battles to win the game 5-1.

This past weekend, the Toros went up against 2nd-place Northumberland Nighthawks, in a game that was sure to entertain. A back-and-forth game ensued, with no team giving an inch. Northumberland was able to go up early in the game, but goalie Declan O'Connor shut the door in the 3rd period, making some spectacular breakaway saves to keep the game in the Toros favor. With a nice open-up goal on the right side, Caleb Eccles put away a beautiful wrist shot to tie the game. Then, Nathan Harper was able to seal the win with a game-winning wrist shot across the net to put the Toros up 4-3. For his diving efforts on the final shift of the game, Ari Jukic was awarded the Warrior of the Game.

The Toros have quite a busy schedule coming up, hoping to keep their undefeated season going. Starting with an away game vs. the Ajax Knights, the Toros then go up against the fast passing attack of the Peterborough Petes in Peterborough on the Saturday, followed by a home game vs. the high-scoring Pickering Panthers to finish out the weekend. Whatever happens, it's obvious this Toros team works well together and can do anything if they set their minds to it!

GO TOROS!
