The Toros Novice A team continued their fight through the playoffs vs Peterborough.

Sat March 10, the boys fought hard but couldn't catch a break vs the Peterborough A team.  With double the amount of shots on net than the other team, the puck just didn't find a way into the mesh.  Final score was 1-0 Peterborough.

Novice A Toro boys started their second round of playoffs this past Saturday March 3rd in Peterborough vs the Ptbo A team.

They came out flying in the first period and didn't stop.  Our offense kept the opposing team in their own end for most of the game.  Pure domination and solid defense had the boys come out on top, 2-1. Goals from B. Van Dam and T. Elson. Solid goal tending from R. Williamson.

The Toros Novice A team played Ajax in their first round of playoffs, best of 7.

We started off the series playing on the road and unfortunately lost the opening game, 5-1. Our lone goal from L.Margeson.

Game 2 was on home ice, and our boys prevailed, winning 3-2 in a hard fought game. Goals scored from each of our lines: J.Schuster, B.Van Dam and T.Elson.

Game 3 was back on the road and the dominance continued with our boys coming out on top, 3-1. Goals from A.Kadykalo (2) and B. Van Dam.

Unfortunately we were out played in Game 4, final score of 4-1. Goal from L.Margeson.

Game 5 was played in Ajax again and it was a high scoring game. The boys dominated the third period but were unable to overcome the deficit. Final score of 8-4 with a hat trick from B. Van Dam and single goal from A. Kadykalo.

Game 6 was do or die for the boys and unfortunately even after a hard fought game with lots of fans in the stands and lots of offense, our boys were defeated by Ajax in this best of seven, 4 games to 2. Final score was 4-2 with goals from A. Kadykalo and T.Elson.

This series was nail biting to watch but we are super proud of all the boys.  They have come so far since the start of the season and the atmosphere in the dressing room is loud and fun! Always a smile when they leave the rink with their heads held high.

Our next round of playoffs begin this Saturday in Peterborough! Stay tuned..............

Saturday December 10, the team faced the strong North Durham Warriors and were unable to create solid scoring chances and went home suffering a 3-0 loss.  The boys fought hard to get offence going and to keep the puck out of our end. Our strong teamwork is starting to shine through.

On Dec 16, the Novice A team travelled to Kingston in style, on a coach bus, to face the Canadians on their home ice. After enjoying "The Mighty Ducks" movie on the way down, the boys lost a close game 3-2 with goals from Kadykalo and Jeffery.

December 17, the team faced Whitby and were unable to hold off the Wildcats in the third period and finished with a 6-2 loss. Goals from McNeill and Elson.

After 3 disappointing and hard fought losses, the Novice A team came out strong December 23 vs Oshawa for our last meeting of the regular season against them on home ice.  With a strong crowd behind them, the team rallied from a one goal deficit in the first period to finish with a 4-1 win. Goals from Jeffery, McNeill, Van Dam and Kadykalo.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All!  May you spend the time with the ones you love and create new memories.

Saturday Dec 2nd, we had our second meeting against Kingston AE on home ice again. With a strong defence in the first period and a steady game in the second period, the offense took over in the third period. The boys finished with a 3-3 tie, and goals from Kadykalo, Simpson and Thomas.

Sunday Dec 3rd, the team travelled to Quinte for a rematch. The boys played well and came home with another tie, 2-2. Goals from Creighton and Kadykalo.
