Toros victorious over Petes
The Minor Atom AA Toros took on the Peterborough Petes in the second game of the season Tuesday night.
The Toros came out strong, and quickly took a 1-0 lead with a goal from Boyd. The first period was all in the Petes zone, but the Toros didn't find the back of the net, ending the period at 1-0.
The second saw more action in the Toros zone, but solid defence and goaltending kept the Petes at bay. The Toros offence got rolling, with a goal by Pickell and a short handed beauty by Rorabeck. Period 2 ended with a 3-0 lead for the Toros.
The boys battled hard in the third, adding two more points to the board with back-to-back goals by Griffin.
A strong showing by the whole team ended with a 5-0 victory over Peterborough and a shutout for goalie Parcero. Way to go Toros!
