Toros continue winning streak
With only two regular season games scheduled this week, the Toros were rested and prepared for a strong showing.
On Thursday night, the boys travelled to Cobourg to take on the Northumberland Nighthawks. The game was close in the first period, with chances both ways. Goals by Griffin and Boyes late in the first ended the period 2-0 Toros.
The second period was full of back and forth action. Northumberland battled hard, scoring 3, but goals by Baker, Best, and Holla held the Toros ahead 5-3 at the end of the period.
The third saw the Toros lead shrink to 5-4, but the boys battled back with a goal by DeBoo and an empty net goal by Holla to take the game 7-4 Toros.
On Sunday, the boys road tripped to Belleville to take on the Junior Bulls.
The game was all Toros from the start, with good speed, great team play and smart defense.
Goals from Griffin (2), Legacy, DeBoo, Boyes, Dobbs and Kadykalo saw the Toros take the game 7-0, with a shutout for goalie Thomas.
The boys now prepare for what's sure to be an action packed weekend with games against North Durham, Whitby, and Peterborough.
