Hometown Showdown
It's not very often that both the home team and visiting team wear red pants, red helmets and a Toro on their jersey, but such was the case this evening.  Tonight was the much anticipated meeting of the MD7 teams - a game that friends, neighbours and schoolmates became opponents.  It was a game that the boys had been talking about and preparing for since the schedule was released.
The MD7 White boys hit the ice to a crowd of their fans outfitted in grey sweatshirts, horns and noise makers.  As the puck dropped , it was obvious that this could be either team's game. Both teams had their chances to bury the puck but exceptional defence and goal tending by both teams kept the score at 1-1 by the end of the first.  The teams showed grit and determination and had their fans on the edge of their seats for 40 long minutes.  The scored remained tied at the end of the second but our boys prevailed in the third and clinched the win over their home town rivals with a score of 4-2.  Goals were scored by B. Besco (2), M. LittleJohn and K. Milne-Ross.  Congratulations to both Toros teams on a game well played.  Whether you were cheering tonight for the team wearing white jerseys or blue jerseys, we are all part of the same Toros community and all Toros bleed red, white and blue!
