PeeWee AE Are Red Hot!!
The Toro's PeeWee AE team have had an extraordinary few weeks in their regular season, the Guelph Powerplay Tournament and the CanAm Challenge Cup in Lake Placid.

They entered the Guelph Powerplay tournament on a 4 game regular season winning streak and were up against some very talented, highly ranked teams in the OMHA's. After winning game 1 against Waterloo Black 2-1, they fell to Waterloo White 4-3 after carrying a 3-2 lead into the 3rd.  With their backs against the wall to make it to Sunday, the team responded on Saturday with a 2-1 win over the very big Kitchener Jr Rangers followed by a 4-2 win over the fast Hamilton Huskies.  Those wins secured a spot in the semi's on Sunday.  The Toro's faced another tough match-up against the home town Guelph Gryphons where they battled super hard to get the 3-1 win, sending the Toro's into the finals against the Kitchener Jr Rangers once again.  This game proved to the most stressful and difficult match yet.  The Toro's came out victorious 3-1 to capture the GOLD.  They finished with a 6-1-0 record in the tournament and made everyone extremely proud!!!  Well done Toro's!!

After coming off the Gold in Guelph, they promptly headed south to beautiful Lake Placid NY to compete in the International Challenge Cup.  The Toro's team kept the intensity and high level play up as they quickly disposed of two New York based teams 10-0 and 11-1 respectively.  Their 3rd game had them match up against an Ontario rival in the Stouffville Clippers, who, coming into the tournament had only lost 2 games all season.  The teams played on the historic 1980 Olympic ice where the "The Miracle on Ice" took place.  After the players gathered themselves from the awe inspiring venue, they quickly got down to business and won their 3 game of the tourney 3-2, advancing them to the Gold medal game on Sunday against Stouffville once again.  Despite a tremendous effort by the Toro's, they fell 3-0 to walk away with the Silver and their heads held high and proud!  The team won the skills competition with the relay team getting bronze and S Archer winning gold in the shout-out.  Also, a very special THANK YOU shout out to Stanley the Toro for making the trek down with the team!!

The PeeWee AE team has amassed an impressive 12-2-1 record over their last 15 games and is very well positioned to close out their regular season, compete in the Wayne Gretzky International tournament, and make a long run into the playoffs!

Way to go Toro's!  We are super proud of all of you!!
