MPAA Toros bring home GOLD!!
The Clarington Toros Minor Peewee AA team battled against 12 strong teams to bring home GOLD in the Garden City Earlybird Tournament!!
The boys started the tournament with a tough loss to the Mississauga North Stars….but went on to win 5 games in a row to win the tournament.
They beat the Niagara Flying Aces 4-2 and the winning streak continued on Saturday with a 3-2 victory over Belleville and a 6-1 win over the Halton Hills Thunder. The team seeded 2nd in their division and played the North Durham Warriors in the semi final game.
Solid team defence and goaltending provided the team with their first shut out of the year and a tough 1-0 win to advance to the Finals. Both Semi Final games in the tournament were extremely tight and were won by scores of 1-0.
Clarington and Oshawa were the last teams standing in the gold medal game. It was a well matched game and again solid goaltending and team defence proved to be the difference.
