Oshawa Cup, Oct 14-16
Toros started off slowly, losing the first game to Milton Winterhawks (who had a very good game) and tying the Pickering Panthers in the afternoon. Toros stepped it up the next day, respectably losing to Barrie Colts (4-0) and defeating Uxbridge 5-2 to move into 4th place and into the last spot in the semis. Toros were up against a tough Barrie team (ranked 7th in Ontario at the time) in the semis that had only given up 2 goals in regular tournament play. Goals were scored back and forth with Barrie scoring a goal and Toros answering with a goal of their own. The game ended with a 4-4 tie and Toros headed into overtime. Hopes were high, but Barrie scored after a minute of so of play. A great effort by the AE team!
