CMHA Registration & Tryouts 2025/26

U10 – U18 Age Groups

Who can tryout in Clarington?

For the 2025/26 season, the OHF has made it possible for anyone to come to the CMHA spring tryouts for U10 to U18 teams and play at any of our available divisions (AA, A, B, or BB).

When do Tryouts begin for the CMHA?

Depending on your age group, April 26 is the opening night for AA tryouts (May 3rd for A teams, & May 12th for B/BB). The full schedule for all age groups and divisions is available below.

---------- FULL TRYOUT SCHEDULE----------

How can I tryout for a CMHA team?

Everyone must register with the CMHA and purchase a Tryout Passport before stepping on the ice. Registration is completed through the link from Spordle (Registration opens on April 2nd). Make sure your Spordle/HCR contact information is up to date.

The Registration & Tryout Passport fee is $95. This is a one-time charge that allows any player to come to tryouts for any division.

NO cash will be accepted at the CMHA tryout desk.

Are there any other fees to tryout?

Yes, if a team is hosting an exhibition game the refs & timekeepers will require payment. The coach will ask that any player dressing for that exhibition game pay $10 for these fees. This is collected at the coaches table before the game when you check in.

What can I expect from the team I am trying out for?

On your first tryout night your coach will give you a brief description of expectations, the tournaments and other possible development along with a preliminary team budget.

The preliminary budget is an outline of costs for the season, i.e. extra ice time and team development, tournament fees, ref & Timekeeper fees. These team fees are in addition to the CMHA Registration fee (see below).

How will I know if I make the team or if I am released?

When you check in with the coach at your first tryout, you will be given a unique player code and a helmet sticker.  Your helmet sticker should be kept on for the duration of the CMHA tryouts for the evaluators to follow and track you.

The unique player code will be used for you to check online if you have been asked to move on to the next tryout or released.

The Coach has said I made the team, now what?

If you are successful and make the team, your coach will give you an Official Offer to the team. You then have the option to accept and register as a CMHA player or decline.

Accepting the coaches official offer to join the team- Congratulations on becoming a Clarington Toro. To officially join the team you will be given a new CMHA Registration link to finalize your commitment.

If you are offered a position on the team and decline you will be released to the next lower level (or you are free to go to another centre).

Note- Once you have registered to your team, you will no longer be able to attend tryouts for other centres.
