Mark Shackleton Memorial Award
Most Improved Goalie
This award is presented in memory of Mark Shackleton, who was a goalie for the Bowmanville Toros for many years. It is awarded to the goalie on the team who has demonstrated the greatest improvement throughout the season.

Barry Shackleton Memorial Award
Awarded to the forward on the team that has portrayed the most heart and perseverance during the season.
Barry Shackleton was a forward with the Bowmanville Eagles.

Terry Baker Memorial Award
Top Defenceman of the Year
Terry Baker played hockey in Bowmanville throughout his life and was also a coach when his son played for the Clarington Toros.

Trooper Darryl Caswell Memorial Award
Awarded to the player on the team who best exemplifies the qualities of unselfishness and sacrifice for the betterment of the team and community.
Darryl Caswell was a Trooper with The Royal Canadian Dragoons, based in Petawawa, Ontario. He was deployed in the south of Afghanistan with the RCD Reconnaissance Squadron as part of the 2nd Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment Battle Group. Age 25, he was originally from Bowmanville, ON and grew up in Clarington, ON. He joined the Canadian Forces in 2004.

Bob de Blois Memorial Award
Awarded to the Best Team Player
The unsung hero of the team, a player who demonstrates a love for the game, displaying qualities of teamwork, leadership, dedication positive attitude, and focused effort. Not necessarily the best player, but rather the best team player, whom works hard at practices and games, listens to their coaches and values the respect of their teammates.

Ruby Downing Award Recipients
Outstanding Member of the Community
Ruby Downing was a volunteer within the CMHA for years. Her son Henry managed and coached several teams over a period of time as well. Brian and Ginny Taylor have generously donated this trophy every year in honour of Ruby, for all the work Henry and Ruby have done within the organization. Henry was instrumental in the Skate 88 fundraiser event which raised over $200,000 that year from local merchants and and sponsors. This money was donated to the town to help build Garnet B. Rickard arena.
