2018 Lift Lock Tournament Champions!!!!
The Minor Atom AA won their second tournament of the year in Peterborough this weekend.
In game one we took on the Pickering Panthers and won 5-0 with some stellar play in net by Caleb Wilson. In game two we beat the Hamilton Huskies by a score of 7-1 before taking on the Upper Ottawa Valley Aces in game 3. After falling behind 3-1 everyone fought back and elevated their game and we won 5-4.
In the semi finals it was the Belleville Bulls who were the opposition. It was back and forth for a while with the game tied 3-3 in the second period. Our boys dug deep and ended up with a 7-3 win.
In the finals it was the Upper Ottawa Valley Aces again as the competition. The game was tight just like the first meeting and went to Overtime and then a shootout. Matt Souter scored and Alan Mundy saved all 3 penalty shots for the win.
Congratulations to the coaches and all 17 players who contributed to the win. We had goals from many forwards and D men, great goaltending and a great team togetherness. Congratulations on a hard fought tournament win.
