Seven weeks ago, the boys competed in the Northumberland Regional Silver Stick and suffered a heartbreaking overtime loss in the championship final. While the defeat was crushing, their performance earned them a finalist’s invitation to the International Silver Stick, an opportunity very few teams ever receive.
This weekend, the Toros arrived with one clear goal in mind: redemption.
After battling through the tournament and knocking off other regional champions, the boys earned a return to the championship stage—this time facing North Toronto. What followed was a thrilling, back-and-forth game that tested every ounce of their skill, composure, and resilience.
When it mattered most, the Toros found another gear. Digging deeper than they ever had before, the boys rose to the moment, clinching a massive victory and capturing the U12 AA International Silver Stick Championship.
The International Silver Stick is one of the most prestigious and competitive minor hockey tournaments in the world. Thousands of teams enter each year. Only a fraction advance to the finals, and only a handful ever get to experience what it feels like to win. This group accomplished something truly special, a once-in-a-lifetime achievement, and their names will forever be etched in tournament history.
