CMHA Toros Update
March 31, 2021
Dear Toros Community,

The Board of Directors wishes to thank you for your patience and understanding, both during the unusual 2020/21 season and also while we prepare for 2021/22.

This update covers the following subjects:
- Changes to U9 (Novice) Age Group
- Tryouts·
- Finances – CMHA Fees & Jerseys·
- Anticipated Teams by Age Group·
- 1st Annual Josh Bailey Classic

Please note that a coaching update will be issued separately.

Changes to U9 (Novice) Age Group - The OHF has announced new policy revisions concerning this age group which state that rep hockey will no longer be offered at U9. As a result, the CMHA is not able to offer a program for this age group. This policy is that of our governing body and we are obligated to abide by it. This is not a decision made by the CMHA.

Tryouts  If we are in a position to hold full scale tryouts, based on government and OHF guidance, they will begin after Labour Day 2021. A more detailed schedule will be made available in August 2021.

Finances - As tryouts will be held in the fall, and players will begin team activities shortly thereafter, total CMHA fees will be due upon the signing of player contracts.  Please note this significant change and plan accordingly. Fees & registration timing will be announced at the AGM. Additionally, all players will require new jerseys for the 2021/22 season. This is in adherence with the 2 year lifespan policy for jerseys and small aesthetic changes will be rolled out.

Anticipated Teams by Age Group - The CMHA plans to hold tryouts for the following teams:
U10 (Minor Atom) – AA, A
U11 (Atom) – AA,A
U12 (Minor Peewee) – AA,A
U13 (Pee) – AA, A, AE (U1213 mix)
U14 (Minor Bantam) – AA, A, AE (dependent upon registration)
U15 (Bantam) – AA, A, AE (dependent upon registration)
U16 (Minor Midget) – AA, A
U17/U18 (Midget) – AA, A

1st Annual Josh Bailey Classic.  We regret to advise that, due to uncertainties concerning the 2021/22 season, our tournament must be delayed further, until the 2022/23 season. Thank you, we hope to see everyone in the fall!
