U12A Toros Punch Ticket to OMHA Championships
The U12A Toros punched their ticket to the OMHA Chamapionships with a 3-0 victory over the Whitby Wild Cats in a tie breaker game Monday March 28th at Rickard Arena.  

In front of a large crowd of family, friends, and supporters from the community, the U12A Toros faced off against Whitby for the second consecutive day.  Playing to a 1-1 tie on Sunday, both teams held identical records of 2-0-1 at the completion of the round robin.  Holding a better goal differntial, the Toros earned the Home ice advantage for the tie breaker game.  

The Toros took a 1 - 0 lead on a goal scored by Logan Smith, set up by Corbyn Tower with three minutes to play in the first period.  Two minutes later they added to the lead when Logan Lawson found the back of the net after receiving a pass from Tyson Chisholm.  The second period saw the teams exchange scoring chances but neither team could find the back of the net.  The game was put on ice when Logan Smith scored his second of the game into an empty Whitby net with 35 seconds to play in the third period, with assists going to Owen Reed and Reid Cameron.
Earning the shutout for Clarington was Carter Medwid.

The U12A Toros will now move on to the OMHA Championships in Whitby, at Iroquois Arena, from April 8th to 10th.  OMHA_bound.JPEG
