Oshawa Hockeyfest Champions
The Clarington Toros U12 A team took to the ice this weekend in the 17th Annual Oshawa Hockeyfest Tournament.  Leading up to the weekend, the team was riding a 3 game winning streak and were hungry for a Tournament Championship.

First up on Friday, we faced a tough squad from Leitrim (Ottawa area).  In a hard fought game, the Toros fell 3-1.  Later that afternoon, the team faced off against the North Durham Warriors.  Needing a win, the boys didn't dissapoint coming away with a 9-2 win.
Saturday morning's game presented a number of scenerios, but the obvious one was a win would put the team into the semi finals on Sunday.  After falling behind 4-1, the boys showed their true character and fought back to tie the game in the third period 4-4.  This ended up being enough to finish second in pool play and up next was a date with the Oshawa Generals in the semi final.
Sunday morning the boys came to play and opend the scoring 19 seconds into the game and they didn't look back.  In a sound effort, the Toros won the game 5-1 to set up a date with the Riverside Rangers (Windsor area).  In the Championship Game, your Clarington Toros once again scored early and often in the first period taking a 4-0 lead and they never looked back.  The Toros finished with a convincing win, 8-3, to take home the Championship.
Congratulations to all the boys on a well deserved win.
