Sunday saw our Minor Peewee AE team defeat rivals Whitby Wildcats at South Courtice and move onto the Lakeshore Finals.
After coming back from a 0-2 series deficit, the Clarington Toros fought hard to get the series tied at 2-2. Sunday at South Courtice was a winner take all game.
In true Toro fashion, the boys played hard with regulation ending in a 3-3 tie. This was our 5th playoff game that resulted in Over-Time. While some may have raised an eyebrow throughout the year on our weekly extra conditioning work-outs and yoga sessions; they sure come in handy in 4th periods! 1/2 way through Over-Time, the right bounce, the perfect pass and a great shot resulted in the Toro game winning goal.
Absolutely incredible performance all series long by our two goalies; Brady “Boiler the Spoiler” Boyle and Dominic “The Dominator” Gareau.
While we are super proud of making it to finals, what is more special is how these boys play as a team and how much support they receive from the Toro Family.
EVERY team member has a point in playoffs; Over 90% of players have scored a goal in the playoffs, and every player has an assist. Just in this last series alone, over 50% of our players scored. Wow, that’s teamwork.
The support we have seen from other Toro teams have been incredible. Especially all the "08" boys. Special thanks to our Minor Peewee “A” team who come out and consistently support. That said, this Sunday was truly special. Toros from all ages and all levels were there cheering us on. This picture says it all. Some say over 100 Toro players were there. Thank-you everyone for the support.
