Toros Silver Medallists in Break The Ice Tournament!
The Clarington Toros Minor Bantam 'A' brought their best in Ajax's 'Break The Ice' Tournament this weekend. The athletes were able to remain undefeated for the majority of the tournament, clinching 1st seed in the preliminary rounds and making it to the final game after a pair of narrow victories against the Pickering Panthers and Whitby Wildcats.
The final game was against the former OMHA champions, the Quinte West Hawks. The Toros had beaten this team in preliminaries 2-1, despite being drastically out-shot through three periods. The Toros battled hard every minute of the final game, not giving an inch and refusing to allow an easy goal. Unfortunately, with 20 seconds left in the game, the Hawks put in a quick rebound to win the game 2-1, sending the Toros home with a Silver Medal, and a newfound rival in the Hawks.
Great job Toros! You earned the respect of the league and the admiration of many fans. Keep up the great work! Keep your heads up, stick on the ice, and feet moving!
