Toros take gold in Guelph
The Minor Atom Toros travelled to Guelph this weekend for the Guelph Powerplay Tournament.

In the first of 6 action-packed games the Toros took on the home town Guelph Gryphons. The Toros battled hard and took the win 7-2. Player of the game awarded to: Dwyer

Next up, the Toros matched up with the Caledon Hawks. In a back-and-forth game, the Toros dug deep, winning 5-3.Player of the game awarded to: Holla




Saturday morning saw the Toros take on the Niagara Falls Flyers. After a scoreless 1st period, the Toros found their legs and dominated the rest of the game with a 7-0 win and a shutout for goalie McLean.Player of the game awarded to: Griffin

Saturday afternoon the Toros took on the Flamborough Sabres. After a fast and physical game, the Toros came out on top, taking the game 6-3.Player of the game awarded to: Holla

Heading into the semi-finals 4-0, the Toros matched up against the Belleville Bulls. The boys played hard and won 5-1.Player of the game awarded to: Moore

The gold medal game saw a re-match of the Toros vs. the Caledon Hawks. The game was tight from the start, with both teams battling for the gold. Good team play and relentless effort paid off, with the Toros taking the win 4-0 with a shut out for goalie Thomas.Player of the game awarded to: Legacy 

The Toros should be proud of a fantastic weekend of hockey, and their 3rd gold medal finish of the season!
