Atom A Team Attends Ford Drills & Skills Day with Toronto Maple Leafs Trainers at the Air Canada Centre
On August 31, 2017, the Clarington Toros Atom A team took to the ice at the Air Canada Centre with the trainers for the Toronto Maple Leafs. The team won this privilege by entering an online contest and encouraging all of their friends and family members to vote for them every day back in the spring.

In order to enter the contest, the team needed to submit a write-up about their community service efforts. The entry was based on a cleanup day held by the boys at Garnet B. Rickard arena last fall.

Over 300 teams entered the contest and our team was among the 16 who were awarded the Grand Prize day at the ACC. The boys got to see their team name in lights on the giant screens around the arena and two team members were even interviewed by CityNews!

The special day consisted of both on and off ice training as well as a session with the Leafs nutritionist where the boys learned about healthy eating and got to sample some of the food. Everyone left with a ton of swag including a Leafs jersey.

Thank you Ford Motor Company of Canada for the amazing opportunity and a day our team will never forget!
