Nail Bitter Goes To Kingston In Opener
AA Atom Clarington Toros and Kingston Canadians had met already this year in the Break the ice tourney in Ajax, and now they would meet again to kick off the Regular Season.

The Toros Came out with a little bit of fire starting with C.Ryan Going in on a breakaway but would be denied by the Right Pad of Steele.  Toros Thought they got on the board First but the puck was put in after a high stick by A.Fata.  But they took that momentum and actually did get the First goal belonging to O.Smith as he chased the puck and snapped it from the slot area beating Steele 1/0 Toros.  A little bit of controversy ended the 1st period as Hyde appeared to be offside unfortunately the Linesmen said no and a few seconds later a centering pass to Hawkins Finds the back of the Net the 2 teams are tied at 1/1 after the first.

2nd Period Kingston Really showed what a good team they are the first half of this 2nd period with relentless pressure and B.Foreman was up to the task stopping everything but the Kitchen sink fired at him.  But there is only so much a Goalie Can Do and with Fowler out in Front of the net, he would take a pass and one time it passed Foreman to give The Canadians there 1st lead of the game at 2/1. The Lead Would extend to 2 goals as Broad from Kingston with a nice move passed the defence went 1 on 1 with Foreman and won the Battle beating him high to make it 3/1.  But not so fast the Toros Weren't leaving the 2nd Period Empty Handed they Gave Kingston all they had nearing the end of the Period and L.Jackman Banging away at the puck poked it passed Steele and we have a 1 goal hockey game game again at 3/2 heading to the 3rd.

3rd Toros Still looking for the Equalizer got denied on so many opportunities and then Kingston Extended there lead thanks to Hyde As he went on A breakaway against Foreman and made no mistake going high glove.  But if you thought this game over you are dead wrong down 4/2 the Toros Get one back on a Turn around shot in front of the net from C. Cole to cut the lead to again 4/3 but Hyde would add another and A.Fata would Answer that Goal so that brings us down to the Last Minute, Toros Down by 1, 5/4 Foreman on the Bench and they tried everything to get that tying marker but it was not to be Kingston earns the 2 points but the Toros Made Sure they they at least worked for it.  Though coming up short was Disappointing, now the Focus shifts to Saturday Afternoon again at Garnett B Rickard Complex The Toros Play Host to the Pickering Panthers Game time 2:15
