Toros Down Petes
It was a final tune up match for the Atom AA Clarington Toros at the Garnett B Rickard Tuesday night as they faced the Peterborough Petes in thier last exhibition game.

1st.The Petes came out strong and had a lot of great scoring chances out in front of the net however, thankfully none of them found their way passed B.Foreman who brought his "AA" game early. The Petes were enjoying their 2nd straight PowerPlay, but the Toros showed yet again they can be dangerous when shorthanded as C.Ryan went in all alone against C.Lain and beat him blocker side for his 2nd shorthanded goal in as many games making it 1/0 Toros 5 mins In.  With 3 Mins left A.Fata poked the puck passed LeGresley and was off to the races making no mistake going high glove on Lain 2/0 Toros.  Not long after, a 2 on 1 with a perfect pass from C.Jun to R.Campbell who finished it off going short side glove made it 3/0 at the end of the 1st.

2nd Period. One of the better opportunities came from the Pete's Leeson who made his way around G.Ford and was able to go 1 on 1 with B.Foreman, but like he did all game long, B.Foreman was up to the task with a huge save with the left pad.  Colacci For Peterborough also had some glorious opportunities, but like the rest of his teammates, he felt the wrath of goal tender B.Foreman.  B.Foreman would lose his shutout as he couldn't control a shot by Hinan who was able to sweep in his own rebound to put the Petes on the board.  The Toros lead 3/1 after 2 Periods of play.

3rd Period. Pete's netminder Cook replaced Lain midway in The 2nd Period and kept his team in the game with some key saves to start the 3rd. The Toros would answer, and you guessed it, with a shorthanded goal while C.Cyr was in the box.  A.Fata took a pass and went in on a breakaway beating Cook to stretch the lead to 3 at 4/1 giving A. Fata his second goal of the game.  The Toros were not done as C.Howard parked in front of the goal, took a nice pass from O.Smith, using a spin around shot found a way to beat Cook to make 5/1. Peterborough was having penalty problems and the Toros made them pay as J.Davidson gets in on the act as his shot finds it's way passed Cook to make it 6/1.   C.Ryan would add one in the last minute as the Toros cruise to a 7/1 victory, a great way to finish off exhibition play and can now turn their focus to tournament play in Ajax this  Friday morning.  Their 1st game will be 9:15 AM VS Garden City JR Falcons @ Don Beer 2
