Minor Peewee A Win OMHA Quarter Finals
The Toros Minor Peewee A team are making us sound like a broken record. Thanks to their tenacity and will to win, and buoyed by growing support in our community, the boys have put together yet another series win against a team they hadn’t been able to beat previously. The close and hard-fought affair vs the Whitby Wildcats Blue almost went to the wire, ending 6 points to 4 for the Toros.

The series was clinched on Sunday February 19th, when the Toros and Wildcats skated to a 1-1 tie, through 10 minutes of overtime. The point earned in the draw put Clarington on top. The other games were 0-3 (L), 3-3 (T), 3-2 (W), 3-2(W).As you would expect, when facing a fantastic team IMG_4226.jpgsuch as Whitby Blue, all the games were close and every inch of ice was hotly contested.

The turning point of the series arguably came in the second game when, with just a little over 6 minutes left in the third period and down 3-0, the Toros roared back to tie it. After the overtime went scoreless, it was clear that the boys didn’t feel as if they’d tied, but won. It was a great attitude to have, and it set the tone for the rest of the Quarter Finals.

From the beginning of this series, the Minor Peewee A boys have benefitted from a growing contingent of fans: both from their personal families and from our extended Toros family. The boys, their coaches and their parents wish to extend our thanks to everyone who has come to cheer on our Toros. Your support has been invaluable!
