The Bowmanville Taxi Atom AE Toros bring home the American Cup from Lake Placid!!
The Bowmanville Taxi Atom AE Toros traveled to Lake Placid, New York this weekend to compete for the American Cup
The team went undefeated all weekend beating the Akwasasne Wolves on Friday and the Canton Bears & Black Ice teams on Saturday during the round robin games, placing themselves in 1st to compete for the gold medal game on Sunday morning.
The team was determined to win that cup and win the GOLD against Black Ice on Sunday morning. They came out strong right from the first whistle and they remained strong right up to the final buzzer at the end of the third!
Although all the boys deserved MVP this weekend, game MVP'S were awarded to R.Viegas, C.Bidgood (x2) and B.MacDonell. C.Bidgood was also awarded Tournament MVP by the tournament organization.
The goalies and two representatives from the team also participated in the shoot-out and relay races on Saturday afternoon. The team's two goalies, T.Sluymers and A.Csizmadia placed 1st & 2nd in the shootout. C.Bidgood & A.Lawther placed 2nd & 3rd in the shootout as the shooters. The boys are very proud of the participants for representing their team!
